Rep. Molinaro Leads Farm Bill Listening Session with Local Farmers, Producers, Business Owners
Washington,
July 7, 2023
The Farm Bill is passed every five years and is up for renewal this year. The bill sets agricultural, rural development, and nutrition policy in the United States. During the listening session, participants shared their priorities for the development of the 2023 Farm Bill. Rep. Molinaro said, "I was honored to lead this important Farm Bill listening session and hear from local farmers, producers, and business owners in our community. The Farm Bill has a significant impact on our rural economy, from the jobs it creates to the support it provides to rural families. As the Farm Bill takes shape, I’m working to ensure Upstate New York’s priorities are included. The insights and perspectives from today’s participants will be invaluable as the House Agriculture Committee works to produce a Farm Bill that meets the needs of our community.” Phil Trowbridge, owner of Trowbridge Angus Farm in Ghent said, “It was an immense privilege to participate in Congressman Molinaro’s listening session. The Farm Bill has a tremendous impact on farmers and farming families here in Upstate New York. This bill and the programs it authorizes work best when these voices are considered. I’m grateful for Congressman Molinaro’s work to advocate for us and our priorities in Congress.” This is Rep. Molinaro’s second Farm Bill listening session.
