Rep. Molinaro Announces $3 Million In New Funding For Greater Binghamton Airport

Binghamton, NY – U.S. Rep. Marc Molinaro (NY-19) today announced the Greater Binghamton Airport will receive an additional $3,000,000 in federal funding for airport terminal upgrades. Last year, Rep. Molinaro announced the airport will receive $7,000,000 for upgrades.

The funds are available through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) Airport Terminal Program. Rep. Molinaro serves on the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee, which is tasked with overseeing the rollout of IIJA.

With these funds, the airport will expand its passenger hold room, replace its aging heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment with reliable and energy efficient units, install two new passenger boarding bridges, and expand its exterior canopy.

Rep. Molinaro said, "These funds will allow Binghamton Airport to complete construction and renovations. I'm proud to secure this crucial funding so passengers enjoy their experience, and the airport can continue upgrading its systems."

Broome County Executive Jason Garnar said, “The award of these funds shows our strong partnership with our state and federal officials. It puts on full display the importance and impact of this project in our community.”

Commissioner of Aviation at Greater Binghamton Airport Mark Heefner said, “We are thrilled to receive these competitive funds. BGM and Broome County has a proven track record of putting these funds to good use with high return on investment. These funds are critical to providing our community with services for years to come.”
