Washington, DC – With Governor Hochul travelling to DC today to attend the State of the Union, U.S. Rep. Marc Molinaro (NY-19) today requested a meeting with the Governor on the border crisis and New York’s sanctuary state policies: “Right now, Governor Hochul’s supposed silver bullet to the border crisis is a bill that has not even passed Chuck Schumer’s Senate. In the House, I’ve taken action, voting 12 months ago to pass a comprehensive border security and immigration bill. “We clearly have different approaches, but the rhetoric and verbal sparring isn’t helping those in New York feeling the impact of this crisis. In the interest of actually finding common ground and solving this problem, I’d welcome Governor Hochul to meet with me today while she’s here in DC for the State of the Union. “The Governor is a leading voice in the Democrat Party. She can put pressure on President Biden to take executive action to close the border, compel Schumer’s Senate to act on the House’s border security bill, and in her position, push for the full repeal of New York’s sanctuary laws. “Governor Hochul: call my office at (202) 225-5441 and let’s meet today.” |
