Rep. Molinaro Selected to Serve on NDAA Conference Committee

Molinaro Will Leverage Position to Push for a Bipartisan Deal & Advocate for Local Job Creators

Washington, DC – U.S. Rep. Marc Molinaro (NY-19) today was selected by Speaker Kevin McCarthy to serve as a member of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) Conference Committee.

The NDAA authorizes the budget and expenditures for the U.S. Department of Defense. Critically for Upstate New York, the NDAA authorizes funding for Lockheed Martin in Owego, BAE Systems in Johnson City, Ducommun Incorporated in Coxsackie, and supports much of the local defense industry.

In July, the House passed the NDAA with seven bipartisan Molinaro-authored measures. Later that month, the Senate passed its own version of the NDAA. The NDAA Conference Committee, which includes Democrat and Republican members from the House and Senate, will work together to develop consensus on a bipartisan NDAA that can be signed into law.

Rep. Molinaro said, “I’m proud to be recognized as someone who can build consensus and I’m honored to be named to this committee. I’ll be working to find common ground on a bipartisan bill that empowers local job-creators, expands mental health care for our military, supports military families with disabilities, and ensures access to quality health care.”
