Molinaro Bill to Help Small Businesses in Upstate NY Advances to House Floor With Unanimous Support From Democrats & Republicans

Molinaro Bill Will Help Small Businesses Navigate & Understand Federal Regulations

Washington, DC – U.S. Rep. Marc Molinaro (NY-19) today announced his bipartisan bill, the Providing Opportunities to Show Transparency via Information Technology (POST IT) Act, was voted out of the House Small Business Committee and will advance to the House Floor. This bill will help small businesses understand and comply with federal regulations that might otherwise be difficult for them to find and understand.

Specifically, this bill requires federal agencies like the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) or Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to post guidance on the SBA’s National Ombudsman website for any rule that has a significant impact on small businesses, non-profit organizations, or small government entities.

Rep. Molinaro said, “The vast majority of small businesses are just trying to contribute to the community, support their employees, and make an honest living for them and their families. So when there’s new federal guidance that they have to comply with, we should be making it easier for small businesses to understand and follow the rules. My bill forces the federal government to simplify significant regulations and post them online. This small fix will help small businesses in Upstate New York avoid big headaches.”
