Rep. Molinaro Announces Over $4 Million for Early Education Programming in Tompkins County

Ithaca, NYU.S. Rep. Marc Molinaro (NY-19) today announced Tompkins Community Action will receive $4,025,764 to support its Head Start program.

These funds are available through the Head Start and Early Head Start programs, and administered by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). They will be used to support Tompkins Community Action's Head Start program, which provides comprehensive early childhood education, health, nutrition, and parent involvement services to children from low-income families.

Rep. Molinaro said, “I am thrilled to announce Tompkins Community Action will receive over $4 million to continue providing critical early childhood education services to children from low-income families. Investing in early childhood education is one of the most important things we can do to ensure every child has a fair shot at success. I believe in this program and will fight for it in Congress so every child has the ability to access quality early education and support services.”

Danielle Harrington, Executive Director of Tompkins Community Action said, “For 56 years, Tompkins Community Action has implemented Head Start throughout Tompkins County and we are grateful to receive another year of funding. Every day we are amazed at the growth and development of young minds participating in this essential Federally funded community based program.”
