Rep. Molinaro Reacts to President Biden’s State of the Union Address

Washington, DCU.S. Rep. Marc Molinaro (NY-19) released the following statement on President Biden’s State of the Union Address:

“Communities in Upstate New York are feeling increasingly hollowed out and ignored. Costs and taxes are still on the rise, rural communities lack reliable access to the internet, and legitimate concerns about public safety have been unaddressed. This will not change unless Washington and the Biden Administration changes.

“The President indicated he is willing to work across the aisle to enact bipartisan policies that make a difference for the people we serve. So let’s get to work. I implore the President to look to governing minded-Republicans like myself who want to collaborate to improve our nation’s fiscal well-being and protect vital programs like Social Security and Medicare. While we are at it, let’s also deliver on issues I know we can find common ground on like breaking down barriers for individuals with disabilities, expanding mental healthcare, and strengthening federal support for those with substance use disorders.

“By design or default, Americans have elected a divided government, with Democrats controlling the White House and Senate, and Republicans holding the House of Representatives. In this government, we have a unique opportunity to find common ground and deliver truly bipartisan results.”
