Rep. Molinaro Slams U.S. Postal Service For Closing Westbrookville Post Office Without Notice, Potentially Violating Federal Law

Liberty, NY – U.S. Rep. Marc Molinaro (NY-19) today issued the following statement after the U.S. Postal Service abruptly closed the Westbrookville Post Office:

“The U.S. Postal Service is required to notify residents of an impending Post Office closure at least 60 days before shutting down a facility so affected residents are able to voice concerns. Closing a Post Office with only one day’s notice is not only inconvenient, but potentially unlawful. This incident adds to the disturbing pattern of the Postal Service disregarding the needs and concerns of Sullivan County residents. I am vigorously demanding answers and accountability from the leadership at the U.S. Postal Service.”
