House Passes Another Molinaro-Authored Bill With Bipartisan Support

Molinaro’s POST IT Act Will Help Small Businesses Navigate Complex Federal Regulations

Washington, DC – U.S. Rep. Marc Molinaro (R-NY-19) announced the Providing Opportunities to Show Transparency via Information Technology (POST IT) Act has passed the House of Representatives with bipartisan support. This is Rep. Molinaro’s second standalone bill passed this year. Rep. Molinaro has already authored and passed over 30 measures that have passed the House as part of other bills. Rep. Molinaro introduced the POST IT Act with U.S. Rep. Hillary Scholten (D-MI-3).

Watch Rep. Molinaro speak on his bill passing on the House Floor here.

Rep. Molinaro authored this bill to help small businesses understand and comply with federal regulations that might otherwise be difficult to find and understand. Federal agencies like the U.S Department of Agriculture (USDA) or Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will be required to post follow-up guidance on the SBA’s National Ombudsman website for any rule that has a substantial impact on small businesses, non-profit organizations, or small government entities.

Rep. Molinaro said, “Doing business in New York is hard enough. So when the federal government writes a new regulation, they shouldn’t make small businesses jump through hoops to understand and comply with it. My bipartisan bill forces federal agencies to simplify and post its regulations online to help small business owners navigate the bureaucracy.”
